Sky Sports pundit reveals prediction for Chelsea FC v Brighton
Charlie Nicholas looks ahead to Chelsea FC's home clash with Brighton on Saturday afternoon
Charlie Nicholas is tipping Chelsea FC to return to winning ways in the Premier League with a 3-1 win over Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The west London side head into the game fresh from their 2-1 loss to Liverpool FC in the top flight last weekend despite a valiant second-half performance at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea FC did bounce back to winning ways in midweek when they claimed a 7-1 win over Grimsby Town at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night in the third round of the League Cup.
The Blues will now turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their home clash against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea FC are aiming to win their first Premier League home game under Frank Lampard as they welcome the south coast side to west London.
And former Arsenal star Nicholas is tipping the Blues to have no problems in claiming all three points in front of their home fans this weekend.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Nicholas said: “The young stars are shining bright at Chelsea.
“They got a chance against Grimsby and Callum Hudson-Odoi got a new contract, played and scored too, so everything looks to be on the up.
“But you have to remember that they lost their last Premier League game, are mid-table so far and you don’t know what will happen next. Graham Potter had a great start to the season and was in a bubble but reality has hit.
“Leandro Trossard is injured, Anthony Knockaert has gone and they don’t have the width any more. Tammy Abraham’s pace will be too much for them here.”
Chelsea FC are aiming to try and maintain their place in the top four this season after they finished third and won the Europa League under Maurizio Sarri last term.
