Willian is confident that Chelsea FC will be able to “win titles” this season under Frank Lampard.

Lampard has been settling into life at Stamford Bridge after having been brought in as Maurizio Sarri’s permanent successor at the club back in July.

Chelsea FC have made something of a mixed start to the new Premier League season, winning only one of their opening four games.

The Blues were pegged back and held to a 2-2 draw by Sheffield United in their most recent outing before the international break.

However, Willian seems to feel confident that the Blues are on the right track under Lampard this season.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Sky Sports, Willian said: “I think Chelsea can win some titles this season. I know it will be hard this season to win titles, as usual, it is always hard.

“It is difficult when you lose players like David Luiz, Eden Hazard, but we have some quality young players here who can improve a lot and in the future become one of the best players in the league. I think we have a great team.

“But Chelsea is a big club and this shirt is heavy. When Chelsea go into a competition we go to win.

“It does not matter the players, it does not matter the coach, every year we want to win something, and I think this year we can do it again.”

Chelsea FC will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Wolves away from home.

The Blues are aiming to try and maintain their place in the top four this season after they finished third and won the Europa League under Sarri last term.

The west London side moved quickly to bring in Lampard as their new manager in the summer after Sarri opted to leave Stamford Bridge after just one season and take over at Juventus.
