Gary Lineker heaped praise on Sadio Mane after the Liverpool FC striker scored twice in their 3-1 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Magpies were ahead in the seventh minute when loanee signing Jetro Willems punished Trent Alexander-Arnold for some poor defending with a clinical finish.

Liverpool FC didn’t equalise until the 28th minute when Mane curled a finish into the net following Andy Robertson’s strong run down the left.

Divock Origi suffered an ankle problem midway through the first half and Roberto Firmino came off the bench to replace the Belgium international.

The South American didn’t take long to have a positive impact on the Premier League game when Firmino found Mane with a superb pass.

Mane rolled the ball into the empty net after Martin Dubravka fumbled his attempt to collect the ball into the past of the Senegal star.

Former Tottenham striker Lineker took to Twitter to react to Mane’s brilliant double in Liverpool FC’s 14th successive Premier League victory.

Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Sadio Mane will be a lot happier today. So too will be people with acca’s.”

Mo Salah scored Liverpool FC’s third goal in a comfortable win over Newcastle.

Liverpool FC have beaten Norwich City, Southampton, Arsenal, Burnley and Newcastle United in their opening five Premier League fixtures.

The Merseyside outfit will start the new Champions League campaign with a trip to Napoli in Italy on Tuesday night.
