Manchester City are in second place behind Liverpool FC after Pep Guardiola’s men dropped points in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at The Etihad.
The Citizens won the Premier League title last season after Manchester City finished a point ahead of Liverpool FC despite losing more games throughout the campaign.
Former Arsenal defender Keown believes Liverpool FC will edge Manchester City in the Premier League title race this term.
“I backed Liverpool in my pre-season predictions, and had City, Tottenham and Arsenal completing the top four,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“I’m standing by that, but fourth is wide open. Anyone could nick it. United seem to be dropping points for fun – a draw at Wolves when they should have won, a home loss to Crystal Palace, then 1-1 at Southampton.”
Liverpool FC won the Champions League crown last term thanks to a 2-0 victory over domestic rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Madrid showpiece back in June.
The Reds only lost to Manchester City at The Etihad in the Premier League last season.
Klopp’s men have won 13 consecutive Premier League games to set a new club record.
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action with a home clash against Newcastle United on Saturday 14 September.
