Steven Gerrard sends message to Jurgen Klopp about Liverpool FC job
Liverpool FC legend Steven Gerrard wants to see Jurgen Klopp continues as Reds manager

Steven Gerrard has insisted that he wants Jurgen Klopp to remain as Liverpool FC manager for a long time given the German’s success at Anfield.
The current Reds boss revealed that he would like Gerrard to replace him at the six-time European champions if Klopp is sacked by the Merseyside outfit any time soon.
Klopp led Liverpool FC to the Champions League title last season thanks to a 2-0 victory over their domestic rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Madrid showpiece.
Liverpool FC ended up with a record points tally for a runner-up last season following a return of 97 points, finishing one point adrift of champions Manchester City.
Gerrard, meanwhile, is in charge of Scottish giants Rangers, who finished in second place in the Scottish Premier League behind Celtic in the title race last term.
The former Liverpool FC captain started his coaching career as Liverpool FC’s under-19s manager at the start of Klopp’s rein.
Gerrard admitted that he was flattered to hear Klopp’s comments but the Reds legend has insisted that he doesn’t want to see the German’s rein come to an end at Anfield.
“I was surprised and flattered at the same time,” Gerrard is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
“But, when you read the quote really carefully, like I have, it said, ‘if I get sacked tomorrow’ he thinks Steven Gerrard should be the next Liverpool manager.
“Jurgen Klopp’s not getting sacked tomorrow. I don’t want him to get sacked tomorrow. He’s doing a fantastic job.”
Liverpool FC are currently in top spot and five points clear of their nearest rivals Manchester City after six games.
