The Scotland international has made the left-back role his own at Anfield since having signed for the Reds from Hull City in July 2017.
The 25-year-old has been a regular fixture in Jurgen Klopp’s team over the last couple of seasons and he played an important role in helping the Reds to win the Champions League title last season.
Robertson and his Liverpool FC team-mates will now be focused on trying to help the Reds to win the Premier League title this time around.
Le Tissier believes that Robertson has been the best left-back in the Premier League for a number of seasons, telling Sky Sports: “Andrew Robertson completes the defence [in my combined XI].
“I think he has been the Premier League’s best left-back for a number of seasons. He was a bargain in the transfer market and has been pretty special.”
And former Liverpool FC star Thompson also decided to rave about the defender following his fine form for Liverpool FC. He told Sky Sports: “Andrew Robertson was terrific last season and has started off in the same fashion.
“I cannot think of anyone that comes close to matching him, regarding both consistency and assists.”
Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their trip to Chelsea FC in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds finished in second place in the Premier League table last season after ending up just a single point behind champions Manchester City in the table.
