The 25-year-old has been settling in well to life at Anfield since signing for the Reds from AS Monaco last summer.
Fabinho took some time to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League but he is now a regular fixture in the Liverpool FC team as he looks to help them challenge for the title this season.
The Brazilian has featured in all four of Liverpool FC’s Premier League wins this season and he helped the Reds to keep a clean sheet in their 3-0 win against Burnley on Saturday evening.
And former Liverpool FC star Carragher believes that Fabinho has established himself as the best defensive midfielder in the league with his fine displays of late.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Liverpool FC’s 3-0 win at Burnley, Carragher said: “I actually think he’s the best in the Premier League now in that position.
“Fernandinho looks like he’s fading out of the City team and Rodri is just coming in but I think since Christmas when he came in [to the team] you could argue he was Liverpool’s best player last season.
“Right now I think he’s the best in that position. I think Liverpool paid between £40-50m, it was a few quid, he had a difficult start but that’s where Liverpool have improved this season.
“If you think of the start of last season how well they were playing but they didn’t have Fabinho.”
Fabinho will be hoping to feature when the Reds return to Premier League action after the international break with a home clash against Newcastle United.
The Merseyside outfit are aiming to go one step further and win the Premier League title this season.
