Gary Lineker took to social media to praise Trent Alexander-Arnold for his fine goal in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 win over Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The 20-year-old fired the visitors into the lead in the 14th minute at Stamford Bridge when he hit home a brilliant free-kick.

Chelsea FC had a goal disallowed before Roberto Firmino made it 2-0 to the visitors in the 30th minute.

N’Golo Kante halved the deficit in the 71st minute with a brilliant solo goal.

But the Reds held on to claim all three points and continue their stunning start to the new campaign under Jurgen Klopp.

Taking to social media just after Alexander-Arnold’s opener, England legend Lineker was quick to lavish praise on the 20-year-old for his fine display.

Posting on Twitter, Lineker said: “He just gets better and better.

“@trentaa98 is one of the most exciting young talents on the planet. Sensational player.”

Liverpool FC will now switch their attentions to League Cup affairs and their home clash against MK Dons in the third round on Wednesday night.

They will then return to Premier League action with a trip to Sheffield United on Saturday lunchtime.
