Jurgen Klopp praised N’Golo Kante for his performance after the midfielder impressed on his return from injury during Chelsea FC’s defeat by Liverpool FC on Sunday.

Kante has missed most of the season so far due to some injury issues but he produced a fine display on Sunday during the Premier League clash at Anfield.

The France international was unable to prevent the home side from slipping to a 2-1 defeat in front of their home fans as goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Roberto Firmino put the visitors 2-0 up in the first half.

Kante pulled a goal back for the Blues in the second half with a brilliant solo strike, but the Merseyside outfit held on to claim all three points.

Klopp was impressed by Kante’s performance and says that he hopes that the Frenchman can now stay fit for the Blues.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday, Klopp said: “Today was a different game against a really exciting team.

“N’Golo Kante, I am not sure he played any league games but against us he is always playing!

“He is always fit for Liverpool. Hopefully he can stay fit now because he is a really good player.”

Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action next weekend when they take on Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Before that, they will host Grimsby Town in the third round of the League Cup at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
