Liverpool FC have opened talks with Sadio Mane over a new deal at Anfield, say reports
Liverpool FC have opened talks with Sadio Mane over a new deal at Anfield, according to reports in the French media.
French outlet Soccer Link, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Reds have begun discussions with the Senegal international about improving his current deal at Anfield.
The same story says that the Reds have opened talks with the player and his representatives as they look to tie him down to a longer deal.
The 27-year-old’s current contract at Anfield is due to expire in 2023 but the attacker could be in line for a pay-rise following his brilliant form in recent months.
Mane has already scored four goals and made one assist in five Premier League appearances for the Reds so far this season.
The same story cites the speculation linking Mane with a move to Real Madrid over the summer, but it also claims that the Senegal international looks to be “settled” on Merseyside.
Liverpool FC will travel to Napoli in their Champions League group-stage opener on Tuesday night.
