Liverpool FC star replies when asked about going the season unbeaten
Andy Robertson laughs off talk of Liverpool FC going the season unbeaten in the Premier League
Andy Robertson has insisted that neither he nor his team-mates are thinking about a potential unbeaten season in the Premier League.
The Reds have made a fantastic start to the new campaign and have won all six of their opening Premier League games to build a five point lead ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table.
Liverpool FC are aiming to go one step further than they did last season and win the Premier League title this term after having missed out by just a point last season.
The Merseyside outfit have been so dominant this season that some fans and pundits are already starting to discuss the possibility of an unbeaten season for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
However, Liverpool FC star Robertson has laughed off those suggestions and says that the Reds are simply focused on taking it game by game.
Speaking in an interview with ESPN FC, as quoted by the Daily Express, Robertson said: Not at all [thinking of an unbeaten season]. You know how tough this league is.
“It’s the most competitive it’s probably ever been.
“It would be great if we can, but the chances of going through a season unbeaten are very tough.
“We’ll try our best, but the chances of having a few bumps along the road is realistic. We need to be ready for that.”
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime when they travel to Sheffield United.
The Reds were 2-1 winners at Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge last weekend as they made it six wins on the bounce in the Premier League this season.
