The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a new deal at Old Trafford to keep him at the club until the summer of 2024, with the option for a further year.
Lindelof has established himself as a key defender at Old Trafford in recent years after having been brought to the club by former manager Jose Mourinho.
The Sweden international has started all five of Manchester United’s Premier League games so far this season alongside summer signing Harry Maguire.
And the central defender has revealed his delight at having been able to commit his future to the Red Devils by penning a new deal.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Lindelof said: “Since the day I arrived at United it has felt like home. I have grown significantly both as a player and as a person in the last two years and for that, I am grateful to everyone at the club for their help and support.
“I love playing football and my aim now is to help the team to win trophies and repay the fans for their unrivalled support. I know that everyone at the club shares this vision and will give everything to get Manchester United back to where it belongs.
“I’m still young and know I can improve further but with the help of the boss and his coaching staff, I believe that only good things are ahead for this great club.”
Lindelof will be expecting to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action with a trip to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are aiming to make it back to back wins in the Premier League for the first time this season as they bid to finish in the top four.
