The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Red Devils are monitoring the 22-year-old ahead of a swoop to sign the highly-rated England international to bolster their midfield.
The same article states that Maddison would perfectly fit the profile of player that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to bring to the 20-time English champions to improve his squad.
According to the same story, Manchester United could face competition for Maddison’s signature from defending champions Manchester City and runners-up Liverpool FC.
The Manchester Evening News go on to reveal that Maddison was content to remain at Leicester for another season despite speculation surrounding his future in the 2019 summer transfer window.
Maddison has already made two assists in four Premier League games this term to help Leicester make an unbeaten start to the new season.
The England star scored seven times and created seven goals in his first season in the Premier League last term after Leicester signed Maddison in a reported £20m deal from Norwich in 2018.
Maddison will have the chance to impress the Manchester United scouts when Leicester make the trip to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
