Manchester United are eager to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele in the January transfer window, according to a report.
The Daily Mail, as quoted by the Metro, is reporting that Manchester United are interested in the former Celtic centre-forward.
The same article states that Manchester United sent scouts to watch Dembele in action against Brest on Wednesday night.
According to the same story, the Red Devils have had representatives at Lyon’s last two games to keep tabs on Dembele.
The report goes on to add that Manchester United could face competition from their league rivals Arsenal and Chelsea FC, who have scouted the Lyon star in the past.
The Daily Mail report goes on to add that Manchester United scouts watched Dembele against Zenit Saint Petersburg in the last round of Champions League group-stage fixtures.
Manchester United have been left threadbare in attack after injuries to their only two proven goal-scorers Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford decimated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attack.
The Red Devils made the decision to sell Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan earlier this month, while Alexis Sanchez moved to the San Siro side on loan.
Manchester United will host fourth-placed Arsenal in the Premier League on Monday night following their 2-0 loss to West Ham in the English capital last weekend.
