Manchester United place a £179m asking price on Paul Pogba's head, according to a report in Spain
Manchester United are set to persist with Paul Pogba’s £179m asking price in the January transfer window, according to a report in Spain.
Spanish media outlet Sport, as quoted by Metro, suggest that Real Madrid will rekindle their interest in the France international in January.
The same article states that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is determined to sign Pogba to bolster his midfield options.
According to the same story, Manchester United were able to see off Real Madrid’s advances for the France international in the summer.
The report goes on to state that Manchester United will still ask for £179m (€200m) in January despite continued uncertainty surrounding Pogba’s future.
Sport add that the Red Devils are still hoping to tie down Pogba to a long-term contract at the 20-time English champions.
Pogba secured a return to Manchester United in an £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.
The France star has won the Europa League and the League Cup since his move back to Manchester United.
However, Pogba hasn’t been able to inspire the Red Devils to title glory during his three seasons at Old Trafford.
Manchester United will take on Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
