Michael Owen tips 19-year-old to star in MK Dons v Liverpool FC
BT Sport pundit Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC starlet Rhian Brewster to star against MK Dons in the League Cup third round on Wednesday night
Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC striker Rhian Brewster to score against MK Dons in the League Cup third round on Wednesday night.
The Premier League leaders had to dig deep to protect three points after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.
Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Roberto Firmino in the first half put Liverpool FC in control of the Premier League clash.
However, N’Golo Kante halved the deficit in the second half with a precise finish from outside the penalty area.
Rhian Brewster was an unused substitute in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea FC.
However, former England striker Owen is backing Brewster to get on the score-sheet against MK Dons on Wednesday night.
“Liverpool passed their first major examination of their title credentials at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and Jurgen Klopp looks sure to shuffle his talented pack at Stadium MK,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Rhian Brewster is likely to make his debut for Liverpool against the Dons and I am looking forward to seeing the striker’s first appearance in a red shirt. It won’t be his last.”
Liverpool FC have won all six of their Premier League games this season, only losing to Napoli in their Champions League opener.
The Reds won the Uefa Super Cup thanks to a penalty shootout triumph over Chelsea FC in Istanbul back in August.
Brewster was an unused substitute in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final back in June.
The 19-year-old signed a new five-year deal with Liverpool FC in June 2018 to secure his long-term future at the six-time European champions.
