Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are both interested in signing Virgil van Dijk from Liverpool FC next year, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Spanish outlet AS, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that both of the Spanish clubs are keen on landing the Netherlands defender as well as Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp.

According to the same story, both of the La Liga sides are keeping tabs on both Klopp and Van Dijk following their stuttering starts to the new season.

Van Dijk has made a huge impact at Liverpool FC since he signed for the Reds from Southampton in the January transfer window back in 2018.

He helped the Reds keep the best defensive record in the Premier League last season and also played a key role in helping them to win the Champions League trophy.

It is now being claimed in the same report that both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are eyeing the Liverpool FC duo should they wish to change manager any time soon.

However, it is highly unlikely that Liverpool FC will entertain any offers for the duo considering their important roles at Anfield.

Liverpool FC are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table after a brilliant start to the new campaign.
