The Lilywhites returned to winning ways in the Premier League in style with an impressive victory over their London rivals in front of their home fans.
Son scored two goals and was named as the man of the match as Mauricio Pochettino’s men moved up into third place in the Premier League table.
The South Korea international is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top attackers, and BBC Sport pundit Crooks was clearly impressed by what he saw from the 27-year-old at the weekend.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Crooks said: “I can’t believe Son has not scored a hat-trick in the Premier League.
“If anyone deserves to have that statistic firmly emblazoned on his CV it is the South Korea international.
“Son was electric against a Crystal Palace side who are blowing hot and cold these days and, against Spurs, were freezing.
“I understand manager Mauricio Pochettino spent an hour in a “clear the air” meeting with his players.
“If that’s the response, would he mind saving those discussions for the really big games?”
Son has scored two goals in three Premier League games for Tottenham Hotspur so far this season as he bids to help the Lilywhites target the title.
He will be hoping to start for the north London side when they take on Olympiakos in their Champions League group stage opener on Wednesday evening.
Tottenham will then return to Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to Leicester City in the top flight.
