Tottenham to make huge contract offer to Christian Eriksen – report
Tottenham will offer Christian Eriksen a huge contract to see off interest from other top clubs, according to a report
Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer Christian Eriksen a contract worth £230,000 a week in the hope of warding off Manchester United and Real Madrid, according to a report in England.
Website Football Insider, as quoted by The Daily Mail, is reporting that Spurs are desperate to keep the Denmark international at the Champions League finalists despite interest from some of Europe’s top clubs such as Manchester United and Real Madrid.
The same article states that Tottenham are planning an ambitious attempt to keep Eriksen by offering the top player a contract worth a staggering £230,000 a week.
According to the same story, Eriksen could still leave Tottenham at the end of the current Premier League season despite Spurs fighting to keep the Danish star beyond the 2019 summer transfer window.
The report goes on to say that Spurs are hoping the huge contract offer will convince Eriksen to commit to a new deal before January, when he will be free to sign a pre-contractual agreement with a foreign club.
Eriksen would be earning close to the same wage as Tottenham’s talisman Harry Kane if the former Ajax man does put pen to paper, according to the story.
The Tottenham midfielder got on the score-sheet in their 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the north London derby before the international break.
Eriksen was part of the Spurs team that lost 2-0 to Liverpool FC in the Champions League final last term.
