Michael Owen is backing Wolves to beat Chelsea FC at Molineux Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Blues missed out on the chance to secure a second Premier League win under Frank Lampard last time out following a 2-2 draw with promoted side Sheffield United.

Chelsea FC have made a mixed start to the Premier League season after the club legend took over the reins from Italian coach Maurizio Sarri in the summer.

The Blues have only managed to win one of their opening four Premier League games after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road last month.

Chelsea FC have conceded nine times in four fixtures to raise questions about Lampard’s defence in light of David Luiz’s switch to Arsenal in the summer.

Wolves have also made a slow start to the Premier League season following a disappointing return of three points from four games.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Wolves to beat Chelsea FC on Saturday afternoon.

“Both sides are in European action next week, but this is a vital league game with Chelsea already seven points off the top having thrown away two points at home to Sheffield United last time,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Wolves played their part in a five-goal thriller at Goodison Park in their last match, but they returned home empty-handed and are yet to win a league game this term for all their successes in the Europa League.”

That said, I take the hosts to keep the points in another entertaining clash.

Chelsea FC finished in third place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.

The Blues won the Europa League title thanks to a 4-1 win over Arsenal before Maurizio Sarri opted to take over the reins of Juventus.
