David Luiz believes that Arsenal have what it takes to fight for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners have made a decent start to their second season under Unai Emery at The Emirates and they started the weekend in third place in the table.

Arsenal’s main objective will be to break back into the top four this season after they finished fifth and without a trophy last term.

David Luiz joined the Gunners from Chelsea FC in the summer transfer window and he has been a regular fixture in Unai Emery’s starting line-up at The Emirates.

Arsenal have taken 15 points from their opening eight Premier League games heading into their clash with Sheffield United in the top flight on Monday night.

And David Luiz seems to think that the Gunners have what it takes to establish themselves as one of the main challengers for the title this season.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, David Luiz said: “I think we’ve started really well and we just lost one game in the Premier League.

“I think the team is improving and now we are in third in the table but we want to finish this season fighting for the title.”

He continued: “For me, if you start something, and we’ve just started the Premier League and all of the competitions, if you don’t think you can win the competition then you won’t start anything in your life.

“I want to win titles with Arsenal. I want to improve and adapt myself for the style of Arsenal, as a club and how the manager wants us to play. I think we can do that together.

“My vision, my ambition and my will is always to fight for the title and between the club, the players and the coach, we have the possibility to fight for the title. I think this club deserves to shine again.”

Arsenal have only lost one game so far this season in the Premier League after they were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool FC at Anfield back at the end of August.
