The England Under-21 international has made an impressive start to the season following a return of seven goals in Chelsea’s first seven games in the Premier League before the clash with Southampton.
Abraham opened his account with two goals in a 3-2 win at Norwich before he netted twice in a 2-2 draw with Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge last month.
The towering striker netted his first hat-trick as a Chelsea FC player in the west London side’s 5-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium.
Abraham transferred his clinical form to the Champions League last week with his first European goal in a 2-1 victory over Ligue 1 side Lille in France.
Former Chelsea FC striker Hasselbaink believes Abraham is capable of scoring at least 20 goals in all competitions this term.
“Very good, very sharp around the box – I like him. His movement is really good,” Hasselbaink is quoted as saying by Metro.
“I think when he plays in a dominant team he will score lots of goals because of his movement and he gets himself on the end of things. That is a good habit to have.
“He holds the ball up [well], gets the ball past [the defender] and gets his shots away. Those are really good attributes that a striker needs to have.
“He scores ugly goals. So for me he should be able to get 20 plus goals.”
Chelsea FC striker Abraham scored his first Champions League goal on his 22nd birthday in France before Willian netted a second-half winner to seal a 2-1 win against Lille.
Abraham has been a regular in the Blues team since Frank Lampard took over the reins from Maurizio Sarri in the summer and decided to give youth a chance at the west London side.
Chelsea FC are looking to secure successive top-four finishes this term.
