Christian Pulisic opens up about Chelsea FC frustration
Christian Pulisic admits his frustration about his lack of playing time at Chelsea FC this season
Christian Pulisic has admitted his frustration at his lack of playing time at Chelsea FC under Frank Lampard so far this season.
The USA international has been settling into life at Stamford Bridge since having signed for the Blues from Borussia Dortmund in January and linking up with his new team-mates in the summer.
The 21-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge with an impressive reputation but he has so far only featured in five of Chelsea FC’s eight Premier League games so far this season, making two assists.
Indeed, Pulisic has only started three Premier League games for the Blues so far this term as he struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team.
The attacker has now opened up about his situation at the west London club as he looks to try and impress new boss Lampard in the coming weeks and months.
Speaking in an interview quoted by the Guardian, Pulisic said: “Culture-wise, it’s been easier than Germany.
“Obviously I haven’t been getting as many minutes as I would like. I know my time’s going to come.
“I’m not just going to throw a fit and give up ever, so if I’m on the bench it doesn’t mean the gaffer doesn’t think I’m a part of the team. I’ve just got to keep pushing.”
He continued: “I want to be starting every game. I’m working hard in training, I want to be there, I hope everyone can see that. With moments like this I hope I can make a case for myself.”
Chelsea FC are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table and they will return to top-flight action after the international break when they take on Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues were 4-1 winners at Southampton last time out as they won back to back Premier League games for the first time this season.
