The 20-year-old has been in superb form so far this term and he has already scored four goals in eight Premier League starts for the west London side.
Frank Lampard has been trusting the young midfielder in his Blues team and the England international has been impressing with some mature performances in a Blues shirt.
Mount scored against Southampton on Sunday to add to goals from Tammy Abraham, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi at St Mary’s, as Chelsea FC moved up into fifth place in the Premier League table.
Former midfielder Redknapp has been highly impressed by what he has seen from Mount this season and he is tipping him to hit double figures in a Blues shirt this term.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Redknapp said: “To be a top team, you have to have a goal-scoring midfielder.
“They had one of the best ever in Frank Lampard. Now they’ve got this young kid [Mount] who has four goals.
“I don’t want to put too much pressure on him but he’s got to get to at least double figures this season.
“The way he finishes is so composed. He’s ice-cool in front of goal. He’s just a good player.”
Reflecting on Chelsea FC’s performance as a whole on the south coast, Redknapp continued: “It was very good [from Chelsea FC].
“Enthusiasm, desire – they had everything that Frank Lampard spoke about when he first joined the club and what he wanted from his team.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they host Newcastle United in the top flight at Stamford Bridge.
