The 20-year-old has been a regular fixture in the Blues team this season after having impressed under Lampard for the west London side.
Mount has scored four goals in the Premier League and he has started all eight of the Blues’ top flight games this term to help them up into fifth place in the table.
The young midfielder has been earning plenty of praise for his mature performances in a Chelsea FC shirt, and he played 72 minutes in England’s 2-1 defeat by Czech Republic in Euro 2020 qualifying on Friday night.
Former Manchester United midfielder Keane has admitted that he has been impressed by what he has seen from Mount so far.
Speaking to ITV Sport on Friday night, Keane said: “Most definitely [Mount plays like Lampard].
“And I think he’s definitely a goal threat. We’ve seen him already, obviously still early in his career, but even out on loan last year.
“He’s getting in very good positions, he’s brave, he’s shown a bit of courage and he looks like he’s got that knack, like Frank, of getting in these positions and actually finishing these chances off.
“A lot of players get in good positions – it’s that end product. He looks like he’s got it.
“If you’ve got an attacking player putting the ball in the back of the net, what a big plus to have in your team.”
Mount will be hoping to be involved when Chelsea FC return to Premier League action with a home clash against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues are currently fifth in the table and just two points behind defending champions Manchester City as they seek Champions League qualification this term.
