The pair have been regular fixtures in the Blues team this season as Frank Lampard opted to go with younger stars in his squad for most of the campaign.
Abraham, 22, scored his eighth Premier League goal of the season in the 4-1 win at Southampton at the weekend, with Mason Mount also finding the net to add to goals from N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi.
Both of the home grown talents have been in fine form this season and they have both earned call-ups to Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for the international break.
Speaking after the game, Sky Sports pundit Souness singled out both Mount and Abraham for special praise as Chelsea FC claimed a victory which moved them up into fifth place in the Premier League table.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Souness said: “He [Mount] has got great feet. He’s not happy just to be involved in the build-up.
“What jumps out at me here [for his goal against Southampton] is how quick his feet are. He’s genuinely all-round a very good footballer.
“When they [the young players] start winning games back to back, they grow, they believe. They’ll only get better and better.”
On Abraham, Souness added: “Gonzalo Higuain, Olivier Giroud, Alvaro Morata – they all came towards the ball.
“To be a top team, you must have someone that stretches the game for you. Tammy Abraham does that.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 19 October.
The Blues are aiming to climb back into the top four in the coming weeks.
