FC Barcelona still keen on signing Chelsea FC attacker – report
FC Barcelona remain keen on a deal to sign Willian from Chelsea FC in the new year, say reports
FC Barcelona are keeping tabs on Willian’s situation at Chelsea FC ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that FC Barcelona remain interested in a move to sign the Brazilian and could make a swoop in January.
The same story says that the Catalan club have been keen on a move for Willian for almost 10 years since his early days at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Willian’s contract at Chelsea FC is due to expire at the end of the season and that means that the Brazil international will be free to speak to foreign clubs about a potential move in the new year.
According to the same article, Willian’s contractual situation at Chelsea FC is giving FC Barcelona serious hope of being able to land the Brazilian in the new year.
Willian, who recently turned 31, joined Chelsea FC in the summer of 2013 and has been a top performer for the west London side.
The attacker has scored one goal in six Premier League games so far this season – but he has only started three of Chelsea FC’s seven matches in the top flight under Frank Lampard.
