Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC ‘set for transfer battle’ over 22-year-old – report
Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC are both interested in signing Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook, according to reports
Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC are “set for a transfer battle” in the race to sign Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Reds and the Blues are among the clubs interested in signing the 22-year-old as both clubs look to try and secure some more of England’s top young talent.
Cook only returned to action last month after having been sidelined since December due to a serious knee injury.
He made his full England debut last year and signed a new contract with the Cherries to keep him at the club until 2022.
The same story says that both Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC have identified Cook as a target as both clubs look to land some more young English talent.
Cook’s “high energy style” in midfield is thought to be the attraction for both of the top Premier League clubs.
Both Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC are likely to be linked with a number of players in the coming weeks and months as the lead-up to the January transfer window gets into full swing.
The Reds are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table, as Chelsea FC focus on finishing in the top four this term.
