The Reds have established a commanding lead at the top of the Premier League table thanks to eight successive victories.
Liverpool FC showed their mettle to dig deep and rescue three points in a 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Saturday.
James Maddison cancelled out Sadio Mane’s first-half goal with 10 minutes left to play at Anfield to leave Liverpool FC on the cusp of dropping points for the first time this season.
However, James Milner converted a penalty in the fifth minute of added time at the end of the clash to secure three points after Marc Albrighton brought down Mane in the penalty area.
Liverpool FC’s weekend got even better when Manchester City slumped to a 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers at The Etihad to leave the Reds eight points clear at the top of the table.
Jurgen Klopp’s side showed their championship pedigree last season after a return of 97 points and one defeat in the 2018-19 Premier League campaign.
However, Liverpool FC missed out on a first Premier League title by just a point.
Former Arsenal manager Wenger believes Liverpool FC are strong favourites to win the title this season.
“I think there’s a pack of clubs that are very close to each other and there is one team above everybody else and that is Liverpool,” Wenger is quoted as saying by the Daily Express.
“It would not be realistic today to speak about that [Arsenal challenging for the title].
“I’m not the greatest at predictions, but right now you want to win games one after the other and see where you can be.
“But at the moment Liverpool are too much in front of everybody and they haven’t lost a game.”
