The Citizens head into this weekend’s round of fixtures knowing that they could find themselves eight points behind leaders Liverpool FC if the Reds beat Leicester on Saturday.
Manchester City are currently five points behind the Reds as things stand and they can ill afford to drop more points given Liverpool FC’s fine form in the top flight so far.
The Citizens head into the game looking to make it three wins in a row in the Premier League before the international break.
Wolves, meanwhile, are currently down in 13th place in the Premier League table, having won just one of their opening seven Premier League games this season.
And former Arsenal star Nicholas is fully expecting to see Manchester City claim a comfortable home win in front of their home fans on Sunday afternoon.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Nicholas said: “Wolves can be awkward, but Manchester City should have a comfortable afternoon. If Liverpool drop points on the Saturday before, then it is a chance they simply have to take.
“City are brilliant to watch, and they are only just getting started. Wolves are a dangerous side and they got their first win last week, but by the time they have come from Thursday’s tough trip to Besiktas, it may be too much for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.”
Manchester City are aiming to make it three Premier League title wins in a row this season after they won the trophy by a single point ahead of Liverpool FC last term.
