The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils will look to cut all ties with the Chile international next year after having sent him out on loan to Inter Milan for the season.
Sanchez struggled for both form and fitness following his move to Old Trafford from Arsenal in the January 2018 transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deemed the attacker to be surplus to requirements at the club and opted to let the 30-year-old move to the Serie A side on a season-long loan deal.
According to the same story, Manchester United see no way back for Sanchez at Old Trafford, regardless of how successful he is at Inter this season.
The same article says that the Red Devils would use the majority of the transfer fee to pay off part of a huge severance package for the Chilean.
It is claimed in the same article that Sanchez is owed around £50m in wages, as he has almost three years left on his current deal.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s stuttering start to the season continued on Sunday when they suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Newcastle United to leave them with just two wins in eight Premier League games.
