The Merseyside outfit are preparing to travel to Old Trafford to take on the Red Devils as they look to try and continue their fantastic start to the new Premier League season.
Robertson and McTominay were both on Scotland duty during the international break and the pair know each other well from playing for their national side.
The 22-year-old McTominay has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United team so far this season, scoring one goal and making one assist in eight Premier League games.
Robertson is now preparing to come up against his international team-mate when Liverpool FC travel to Old Trafford on Sunday.
And the Liverpool FC defender says that the Manchester United midfielder has been impressing with his form for the Red Devils.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Manchester United’s website, Robertson said: “There was a wee bit of banter with Scott McTominay during the Scotland duty, just a wee bit, not much, honest!
“I thought Scotty was fantastic for us against San Marino, to be honest.
“And he’s been excellent all season in a United team that has had its critics.
“I think he’s carried himself very well. I’ll be looking forward to facing him on Sunday. Obviously, I hope to come out on top.”
Liverpool FC have won all eight of their opening Premier League games heading into their clash with Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds are aiming to go one step further than they did last season and win the Premier League title this time around.
