Manchester United are scouting promising Russian forward Aleksandr Sobolev, according to a report in England.
The Sun, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Red Devils are keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old ahead of a potential swoop in the January transfer window.
The same article states that Manchester United have sent scouts to watch Sobolev play for Kyrlia Sovetov on a number of different occasions in the current campaign.
According to the same story, Manchester United would have to pay around £15m to sign the Russia Under-21 international, who has scored nine times so far this season.
Manchester United are in the market to sign a new striker after the Red Devils offloaded Romelu Lukaku in a big-money move to Inter Milan in the summer.
Chile international Alexis Sanchez also completed a switch to the San Siro outfit, although the former Arsenal star moved to Inter on loan for the season.
Solskjaer is currently relying on Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood to provide the goals to fire Manchester United into the Premier League’s top four.
The Red Devils failed to register a shot in target during their goalless draw with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday night.
