Man United could bid £70m to try and sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice in January, say reports
Manchester United could be set to make a £70m bid to try and sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in January, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the young midfielder is being linked with a big-money move to Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to bolster his squad in the mid-season window.
The same story says that Manchester United are continuing to monitor Rice’s development at the east London club as the January transfer window draws nearer.
According to the same article, the Red Devils are looking to sign a new defensive midfield lynchpin and Rice could fit the bill at Old Trafford.
However, the same story also carries quotes from the 20-year-old himself, with the midfielder saying that he is currently happy at West Ham and isn’t paying too much attention to the speculation.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the forthcoming January transfer window after their dreadful start to the new season left them in 12th place in the table.
The Red Devils will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they take on Liverpool FC at Old Trafford.
