The Merseyside outfit head into the game looking to maintain their brilliant start to the new season, after having won all eight of their opening games in the top flight.
Liverpool FC are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table and have built an eight-point lead over closest challengers Manchester City in just two months.
Jurgen Klopp’s men will be desperate to beat their arch rivals and continue their push for the title at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Manchester United, meanwhile, head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 1-0 loss to Newcastle United last time out.
The Red Devils are currently struggling down in 12th place in the Premier League table and 15 points behind Klopp’s men.
And former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson is tipping the Reds to claim all three points when the Anfield outfit make the trip to Old Trafford this weekend.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Liverpool picked up a point when they went to Old Trafford last year but I thought United were there for the taking in that game, when they suffered a lot of injuries in the first half.
“I just feel it is the same this time, with the amount of absentees United could have – they are talking about David de Gea being a doubt now too.
“So I am going for a win for Jurgen Klopp’s side. They can just carry on doing what they are doing – it is working, so they don’t have to change.
“It feels like they just cannot stop winning, which is the best trick it is possible to have.”
Liverpool FC are aiming to go one step further in the Premier League this season after having finished second and a point behind Manchester City last term.
