The Lilywhites have made a stuttering start to the new season and they currently find themselves down in ninth place in the Premier League table.
Spurs suffered a surprise 3-0 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion last time out, and they have only won two of their last five games in the top flight this term.
Indeed, the north London side have lost two of their last three and find themselves well off the pace in the race for the Premier League title.
However, former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson is backing Spurs to bounce back and claim all three points when they host Watford in the Premier League this weekend.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “This is a good fixture for Tottenham, who need a big response after being beaten by Brighton.
“Watford picked up a point in their last game, at home to Sheffield United, but I think they will have to wait a bit longer for their first win of the season.”
Tottenham will return to Champions League action next week when they take on Red Star Belgrade at home on Tuesday night.
The Lilywhites will then return to Premier League action when they host leaders Liverpool FC at their home ground on Sunday 27 October.
