Arsenal are monitoring Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall ahead of a potential bid in the January transfer window, according to a report in England.
Football Insider is reporting that the Gunners are looking to sign a new centre-half to bolster Unai Emery’s leaky defence ahead of the second half of the season.
The same article states that Arsenal were thought to have sent scouts to watch Worrall feature in Nottingham Forest’s clash against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Wednesday night.
According to the same story, the north London side are considering a potential bid to sign the 22-year-old English star in the upcoming transfer window.
The report goes on to reveal that Worrall was the subject of a £10m bid from Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Burnley in the 2019 January transfer window.
Worrall has made one assist in 16 appearances for Nottingham Forest in the current campaign.
The England Under-21 international spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Scottish Premier League side Rangers.
Worrall has come through the youth ranks at Nottingham Forest to establish himself as a regular in the first team.
The centre-half has netted one goal in 56 games in all competitions since breaking into the Forest side.
Arsenal signed six new players in the summer transfer window but Unai Emery’s side are still outside the top four.
