The Red Devils head into the game looking to try and return to winning ways after they slumped to a 3-3 draw with Sheffield United in the Premier League at the weekend.
That draw has heaped fresh pressure on Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whose side sit in ninth place in the Premier League table after a stuttering start to the new campaign.
Indeed, Solskjaer’s men have only managed to win four of their opening 13 games in the Premier League to leave them well off the pace in the race for Champions League qualification.
Manchester United will be returning to Premier League action with a home clash against Aston Villa this weekend, but before that they make the trip to Kazakhstan to face Astana.
Former Red Devils striker Owen is backing the home side to claim a draw against the Red Devils when they host the Premier League side this week.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Young United striker Mason Greenwood scored the only goal of the game in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford earlier in the season, but I feel Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will have to settle for a draw in Kazakhstan despite the fact that Astana have lost their last three home games in the Europa League.
“United are already through to the knock-out stages of the competition but are not yet guaranteed top spot.
“I think the hosts, despite the fact that they are yet to pick up a solitary point in the group stages, can get a draw in the Astana Arena.”
Manchester United are aiming to try and break back into the top four this season after they finished sixth and without a trophy last season.
