Glenn Hoddle feels that “something special” is brewing at Chelsea FC after the Blues’ strong start to the new season under Frank Lampard.

The Blues have been earning lots of praise for the strong start to the season they have made under their new manager following his appointment back in July.

Chelsea FC currently find themselves in third place in the Premier League table and eight points behind leaders Liverpool FC after having won six of their last six top-flight games.

Lampard has been widely praised for opting to give youth a chance to shine this season, with the likes of Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount featuring regularly in the starting line-up.

Chelsea FC continued their winning run in the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.

Former England boss Hoddle has been hugely impressed by what he has seen from the young Chelsea FC team this season and says it is exciting times for Blues fans.

Speaking in an interview quoted by the Daily Express, Hoddle said: “They’re a very exciting team to watch.

“I think you’re right, I don’t know whether those youngsters would have had a chance without the [transfer] embargo, but they’ve been given a chance.

“The one key thing is, when you put youngsters in they’ve got to be good enough, and these guys are good enough.

“There’s five of them there that I think in two years time they’re going to be ready to win the league.

“I really do feel that there’s a foundation, building blocks there to really go on and become something special.”

Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Manchester City at The Etihad on Saturday 23 November.

The Blues are aiming to maintain their spot in the top four after they finished third last term.
