Hudson-Odoi’s future had been a relentless source of speculation earlier this year after he was reported to have handed in a transfer request in January.
However, the teenager was quick to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Blues after Lampard’s appointment as Maurizio Sarri’s successor at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Hudson-Odoi has been impressing along with a host of Chelsea FC’s other younger players this season under Lampard.
The 19-year-old has made six Premier League appearances so far this season and has made three assists in the top flight for his team-mates.
Now, the teenager has revealed how Lampard’s appointment as Chelsea FC boss proved to be a turning point in his career.
Speaking in an interview with BT Sport, Hudson-Odoi said: “Him coming here is a big feeling for all of us because he was talking before about how he likes young players and I had an idea in my head that if he comes here it will be great for us.
“As soon as he came I thought ‘yep this is it’. I had a few chats with him and thought this is perfect, I want to stay here.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Manchester City away from home on 23 November.
The Blues have won their last six games in the Premier League to leave them as one of the main challengers for a top-four finish in the top flight this season.
