James made his first Premier League start of the season on Saturday as he helped the Blues to claim a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
The 19-year-old has scored two goals in nine appearances in all competitions so far this season and he has impressed whenever called upon by Frank Lampard.
James will be hoping to continue to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Chelsea FC this season as the Blues aim to challenge for the Premier League title.
Fellow youngster Mount has now opened up on James and has explained why he rates him so highly.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Mount said: “Reece is a very quiet boy.
“I’ve known him for a very, very long time, since eight or nine years old at the Academy here.
“He’s a very good boy, always works hard, and he’s got tremendous qualities. He’s going to be a brilliant player for us now and in the future as well.
“I call him the Beast, because he’s so quick, strong and powerful. You don’t want to get too close to him in training because he’ll get you off the ball, so you try to stay away from him.
“We all have a joke and a laugh, me, Tammy, Fikayo, Cal, Reece. We’ve all been together from a very young age so we know the ins and outs of all of us.”
Both Mount and James will be hoping to feature for Chelsea FC when the Blues return to Premier League action with a crunch clash against Manchester City at The Etihad after the international break.
The Blues currently find themselves in third place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and challenge Liverpool FC for the the title this term.
