‘A revelation’: BT Sport pundit raves about Pulisic during Chelsea FC’s clash at Valencia
Martin Keown praises Christian Pulisic for his display in Chelsea FC's 2-2 draw with Valencia in the Champions League
Martin Keown singled out Christian Pulisic for special praise after the playmaker helped to fire Chelsea FC to a 2-2 draw with Valencia in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Chelsea FC headed into the game looking to return to winning ways after their 2-1 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League at the weekend.
Mateo Kovacic equalised in the 41st minute for Chelsea FC with a low, long-range strike after Carlos Soler had give Valencia the lead just moments before.
Pulisic then netted from close range in the 50th minute to put Chelsea FC ahead, with the goal being given after a lengthy VAR review for offside.
However, Valencia equalised when Daniel Wass’ cross caught out Kepa Arrizabalaga in the Chelsea FC goal in the 82nd minute.
The 21-year-old has now scored six goals in all competitions and has made two assists for Frank Lampard’s men this season.
And former Arsenal star Keown has admitted that he has been very impressed by what he has seen from the USA international in recent weeks.
Speaking during BT Sport‘s coverage of the Champions League clash, Keown said: “It’s a great compliment to him [Pulisic], but he looks very like [Eden] Hazard in the way that he runs with the ball. Willian on the other side looks really very good. The two midfield players are impressive.
Keown continued: “He [Pulisic] has been a revelation. I’ve been really impressed with him tonight. His intelligence… he makes something happen every time he gets it.”
Chelsea FC will aim to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host West Ham United in the top flight on Saturday afternoon.
Lampard’s side are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and seal Champions League qualification for next season.
