Gary Neville declared that Liverpool FC will “never have a better chance to win the Premier League” after their 3-1 win against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday evening.

Liverpool FC were looking to extend their lead by eight points at the top of the Premier League table and move nine points clear of defending champions Manchester City.

The Reds broke the deadlock in the sixth minute when Fabinho beat Manchester City’s second-choice goalkeeper Claudio Brave from outside the area.

Fabinho’s opener was controversial after Trent Alexander-Arnold handled the ball down the other end before Liverpool FC’s counter-attack.

Mohamed Salah doubled the home side’s lead seven minutes later when the Egypt international guided a header past Bravo.

Sadio Mane made it 3-0 with a close-range header from Jordan Henderson’s brilliant cross six minutes after half-time.

Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva scored a consolation goal but Liverpool FC held on for three points.

Sky Sports pundit Neville claimed that Liverpool FC now have their best chance to go on and win the Premier League title.

“You’ve seen it develop over the last couple of years here [at Anfield],” Neville said during Sky Sports’ coverage of Liverpool FC’s 3-1 win at Anfield.

“They love their manager, these fans. They love their team, they believe in the team and now they trust them because they’ve won the Champions League.

“They’ll never have a better chance to win the Premier League, which is the holy grail for them.”

Manchester City had won 11 of their last 12 away games in the Premier League before their trip to Anfield on Sunday.

The Citizens will return to Premier League action with a home clash against Chelsea FC on Saturday 23 November.

Manchester City are nine points adrift of the Premier League leaders.

Liverpool FC, meanwhile, will make the trip to Crystal Palace when the Premier League returns after the international break on Saturday 23 November.
