‘He has been great’: Cafu raves about 21-year-old Liverpool FC star
Brazil legend Cafu heaps praise on Liverpool FC's Trent Alexander-Arnold
Cafu says Trent Alexander-Arnold has been instrumental in Liverpool FC’s Premier League title challenge this season, adding that the defender could be the subject of a big offer next summer.
The 21-year-old has been a regular in the Liverpool FC team over the past couple of seasons after the youth graduate made the right-back spot his own in Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Alexander-Arnold provided the assist for Sadio Mane’s last-gasp goal in a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa in their last away game in the Premier League at Villa Park.
The 5ft 9ins full-back scored a brilliant free-kick in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge earlier in the Premier League campaign.
Alexander-Arnold has been tipped to move into a midfield role similar to Kevin De Bruyne at Manchester City as the England international continues to develop.
Brazil legend Cafu heaped praise on Alexander-Arnold, adding that Liverpool FC should be prepared for a big offer for the defender from one of Europe’s top clubs next summer.
“Trent has been one of the better players in the league and he is one of the main reasons why Liverpool are where they are,” Cafu is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
“At the end of the season we could see a big trade with him, as he is not only a great defender but he can also help and move forward and sideways with and without the ball.
“For that reason he has been great in scoring goals and is what I would call a ‘quarterback scorer’.”
Alexander-Arnold has netted five times in 101 games in all competitions since breaking into the Liverpool FC team three seasons ago.
The Liverpool FC star was part of the Reds team that won the Champions League title last season thanks to a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur.
