The Brazil international started in the middle of the park in front of the Liverpool FC defence against the defending Premier League champions.
Fabinho broke the deadlock in the sixth minute when the defensive midfielder fired a long-range effort past Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.
Mohamed Salah doubled the home side’s lead in the 13th minute, before Sadio Mane made it 3-0 in the 51st minute at Anfield.
Manchester City forward Bernardo Silva scored what ultimately proved to be a consolation goal at Anfield.
Fabinho finished with 83 per cent pass completion, while the Brazilian won one tackle and completed on dribble.
Liverpool FC are nine points clear of defending champions Manchester City following their 3-1 win.
Former Reds defender Carragher felt that Fabinho as well as Liverpool FC’s centre-halves Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren deserved a lot of credit after Sunday’s victory.
Carragher wrote on Twitter: “Huge 3 points for
@LFC today & 9 points is a huge lead at this early stage.
“I thought @ManCity played very well with the ball, but they just couldn’t cope defensively. Fabinho & the CB’s were immense for #LiverpoolFC #LIVMANC.”
Liverpool FC signed Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Klopp dropped Fabinho for Liverpool FC’s 2-1 loss to Manchester City at The Etihad back in January.
The Reds haven’t lost a Premier League fixture since that result against the defending champions.
