Gary Lineker warned Liverpool FC to watch out for Leicester City in the title race after they moved eight points clear at the top of table thanks to Sunday’s 3-1 win over Manchester City.

Fabinho, who was benched for Liverpool FC’s 2-1 loss at Manchester City back in January, broke the deadlock in the sixth minute with a goal from outside the penalty area.

Sergio Aguero led Manchester City’s protests about a handball at the other end before Liverpool FC broke the deadlock in sensational style.

Liverpool FC extended their lead in the 13th minute when Mohamed Salah guided his header past Claudio Bravo to relieve building pressure on the hosts.

The Merseyside outfit extended their lead to 3-0 when Sadio Mane netted a header from close range after Jordan Henderson’s excellent cross.

Manchester City got a goal back through Bernardo Silva but the defending champions were unable find a second goal.

Liverpool FC moved eight points clear of second-placed Leicester after the Foxes had reduced their lead to five points following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Arsenal.

BBC Sport pundit Lineker took to Twitter to warn Liverpool FC that Leicester are ready to put pressure on the Premier League leaders in the title race.

Lineker wrote on Twitter after the 3-1 result at Anfield: “Huge win for @LFC and an 8 point lead at the top of the Premier League table. The Fox hunt is on.”

Earlier in the game, Lineker had reiterated his belief: “Only Leicester can catch Liverpool now. 🤪”

Liverpool FC’s next fixture is against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday 23 November.

Manchester City will take on Chelsea FC at The Etihad later on the same day.

Liverpool FC are looking to win their first-ever Premier League title after finishing in second place last season.
