Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool FC will need every point in the title race ahead of their intense festive schedule.

The Reds moved nine points clear of defending Premier League champions Manchester City in the title race on Sunday.

Liverpool FC eased to resounding 3-1 victory over Pep Guardiola’s side thanks to goals from Fabinho, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

The Merseyside outfit are eight points ahead of Leicester City and Chelsea FC after their respective victories over Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Liverpool FC competing in five different competitions in the next two months, Klopp said:

“I have no idea if I’ve ever had a nine-point lead, it has never been nine points over City, especially after a game against them so it is completely new.

“Each point we have now, we need to go through the most intense period ever for us. You see how Chelsea and Leicester are performing, if we lose today, it is then about five points? After the start we had, five points is nothing.

“We have to play them [Man City] again and we don’t care about the table or whatever, we just try to do the right things in the specific games and if we can do that, then we are good but we need the boys for that and we have to hope they stay fit.”

Liverpool FC will take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday 23 November after the international break before Napoli travel to Merseyside in the Champions League on 27 November.

The Reds will welcome Brighton and Everton to Anfield in successive games before a trip to Bournemouth on 7 December.

Liverpool FC finish their Champions League group-stage campaign against Salzburg in Austria on 10 December before a League Cup quarter-final against Aston Villa at Villa Park on 17 December.

A day later, Liverpool FC will compete in the Fifa World Club Cup semi-final before a potential final on 21 December.

Liverpool FC’s crazy fixture schedule will finish with a trip to Leicester City on Boxing Day before games against Wolves and Sheffield United on 29 December and 1 January respectively.

The FA Cup third round will take place on 5 January.
