‘Relentless’: Alexander-Arnold warns Man City about Liverpool FC’s title bid
Trent Alexander-Arnold says Liverpool FC will be "relentless" in their bid to win the Premier League
Trent Alexander-Arnold has warned Manchester City that Liverpool FC will be “relentless” in their pursuit of the Premier League title this season.
The Reds are sitting in a strong position at the top of the Premier League table ahead of their clash against the defending champions at Anfield next weekend.
Liverpool FC have already notched up big victories over Arsenal, Chelsea FC, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this term.
In fact, Manchester City’s local rivals Manchester United are the only top-six club to have denied Liverpool FC victory after a 1-1 stalemate at Old Trafford.
Jurgen Klopp’s side finished a point behind Manchester City in the title race last term after the Reds amassed a record tally of 97 points for Premier League runners up.
Liverpool FC only lost one game throughout the 2018-19 season following a 2-1 loss at The Etihad in January as Klopp’s side paid the price for too many draws.
Alexander-Arnold says Liverpool FC are going to be persistent in their bid to finally get their hands on the Premier League crown this season.
“Relentlessness is probably the main word in and around the camp at the minute,” Alexander-Arnold is quoted as saying by Metro.
“We want to keep winning games, gathering as many points as possible and winning more trophies.
“You can’t do that without being consistent in tournaments and over the league campaign – and that’s what we want to be, consistent.
“We saw last season that getting a big haul of points wasn’t enough so we still need to pick up as many points as possible.”
Liverpool FC will return to Champions League action on Tuesday night with a home clash against Belgian side Genk at Anfield.
The Reds won the Champions League title last season.
