Louis Saha heaped praise on Marcus Rashford for his energetic performance in Manchester United’s 3-1 win against Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The England international had scored six times in his last seven games before the visit of Brighton despite Manchester United’s inconsistent Premier League form.

The Red Devils made the breakthrough in the 17th minute when Andreas Pereira broke the deadlock before Davy Propper netted an own goal two minutes later.

Brighton defender Lewis Dunk halved the deficit in the 64th minute to threaten a potential comeback at Old Trafford.

However, Rashford restored Manchester United’s two-goal lead with his sixth Premier League goal of the 2019-20 season.

Former Manchester United striker Saha was impressed with Rashford’s energetic performance at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Saha wrote on Twitter: “Great win. Love the desire of
@MarcusRashford to score more. Impressed by number of ball recovered high on the field in 2nd half. Great energy level. OT!!!!! @ManUtd 3-1 @OfficialBHAFC”

Rashford has netted six times in 12 games in the Premier League this season to carry the Manchester United team’s biggest threat up front.

Manchester United are short on options up front after the 20-time English champions opted to sell Romelu Lukaku to Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Alexis Sanchez was also sent out on loan to Inter Milan to leave Solskjaer with just Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood up front.

Manchester United are in seventh position in the Premier League table and 10 points adrift of Leicester City and Chelsea FC in the top-four race.

The Red Devils have won four of their 12 games in the Premier League so far this term.

Solskjaer’s side will return to Premier League action with a trip to fifth-placed Sheffield United on Sunday 24 November.
