Mario Mandzukic remains a potential option for Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to a report in England.

Sky Sports News is reporting that the Red Devils have retained an interest in the 33-year-old ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The same article states that Manchester United have been monitoring the Croatia international since the summer.

According to the same story, Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri consider Mandzukic surplus to his plans at the Turin side.

The article goes on to add that Mandzukic reportedly hasn’t trained with the Juve first-team squad since October due to an arrangement with Sarri.

Sky Sports News go on to suggest the World Cup finalists could prove an attractive proposition for the Red Devils due to his experience.

Mandzukic started his professional career with NK Zagreb and Dinamo Zagreb before he completed a move to Wolfsburg in 2010.

The Croatian striker spent two seasons at Bayern Munich before he moved to Atletico Madrid in 2014-15.

Mandzukic switched to Serie A champions Juventus in 2015 before winning four successive Serie A titles at the Turin side.

The 33-year-old has netted 44 times in 162 games in all competitions over the past four and a half seasons at Juventus.

Manchester United are currently in seventh position in the Premier League table.
